This solar array was installed by The Hayter Group for a client near St. Thomas, Ontario. The system features state of the art Sol-Ark hybrid inverters and a battery backup system by Fortress Solutions.
Sol-Ark Inverter
Solar arrays produce DC (direct current power). An inverter converts the energy produced by your solar panels to AC (alternating current), which is fed back into your local energy grid.
A common misconception is that if the power goes out, your solar panels will keep your home running. In a typical solar installation, if the power goes out, your system also shuts down.
Fortress Energy Storage
The Fortress energy storage system allows you to store energy that you can use later.
Your solar panels charge your Fortress battery. That power can be used later, during an outage, or at night, when your solar panels are not producing electricity.
